Active Waiting and the Spiritual Principle of Lift
Prophetic Word:
“In 2025, God will emphasize the power of ACTIVE WAITING and help us see how it relates to the SPIRITUAL PRINCIPLE of LIFT.”
Prophetic Insight:
This word came clearly and concisely about three weeks before the new year. It was as if the Lord wanted to make abundantly clear one of the most simple and powerful ways we can position ourselves to partner with and receive from Him in 2025.
What really got my attention in this word was the phrase “the spiritual principle of lift.” I had never heard this before. So I asked Him what it meant and how it worked. He immediately took me to Isaiah 40:31.
But those who wait on the Lord
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.
(NKJV)
Often, when we are in the midst of the ups and downs of the world, we try to figure out what we can do or how we can navigate the shakings and the changes and the challenges. We start “straining at the oars” in the midst of the storms (see Mark 6:48). And we get worn out, discouraged, and disappointed. We are taken out of faith and into frustration.
But in 2025, God is going to help us understand that one of the most powerful (and productive) things we can do is to wait upon Him. But it will not be a waiting in the sense of just hanging back, arms crossed or hands folded, thinking, “Well, Lord, I hope You show up.” That is a passive, powerless waiting.
In 2025, God is going to help His people understand the power of ACTIVE WAITING. The “waiting” of Isaiah 40:31. That word in the Hebrew is “kaw-vaw,” and it means: to expect, to be entwined. Active waiting on the Lord is not sitting back UNTIL He maybe does something. It is resting in Him, knowing that He has won all, done all, and given all, and we know that we know that we know it must come to pass. It is shifting from a mindset of I’ll-believe-it-when-I-see-it to I’ll-see-it-because-I-believe-it.
When we wait on God in an expectation of who He is, what He is like, and all that He has done; we are not waiting for Him to hopefully, maybe one-day do something. We are becoming entwined, more and more, in certainty and expectation of what He will do because His Word says so. We become more and more entwined in what we know must come forth because it is already a finished work.
This certain expectancy renews our strength to believe. And it creates “lift” in the spirit where, all of a sudden, we are up above the challenges, seeing them as already settled and sorted from the victorious perspective of the Triumphant Lord in Whom we are seated in heavenly places (see Ephesians 2:6).
An airplane that is passively sitting on a runway will never take off. The aerodynamic force of lift is only triggered when a plane is in motion. It is very similar in the spirit. It is active waiting upon the Lord that creates spiritual lift. It is when we choose to “gun the engines,” as it were, and engage our faith while we are “waiting.”
Here are just a few ways to actively wait:
> Pray in tongues
> Decree the Word
> Pray out and declare key prophetic words
> Praise and worship
> Give thanks
This expectant waiting will lift believers up above what may come in 2025. It will lift us up above any current circumstances. It will lift us up to see from heaven’s perspective. It will cause us to arise and shine because we know our Light has come.
